irrelevant: (Dick: WTF?)

this is starting to feel like an Eastwood joint

The good: It looks like Dick and Jay are each getting their own title.

The bad: Putting Babs back in the mask is one of the dumbest things DC has done to date, and not just because Steph does not deserve this shit.

The ugly: If there's something worse than Judd Winick getting his hands on Selina Kyle, I can't think of it at the moment.

So. Mixed feelings about so much. I'm not going to stop buying Bat comics: I *can't*. And I don't think the reboot is going to make me *completely* unhappy. But there's so much that *is* going to make me unhappy, that I just...

I don't know. I don't know how to feel about any of it, really.

I'm hanging on to hope that DC is not destroying one of their most popular characters ever, and that the cover is some kind of retro-action and it'll settle down to Steph-bat and Oracle. Maybe the cover is a dream sequence? (No, that'd be too whacked even for DC. Ugh. I can think of ten zillion ways for Barbara to regain use of her legs, and there is NO FUCKING REASON for DC not to have already used them other than "but she's popular in the wheelchair....") And I really can't imagine launching Issue #1 with a character who's going to hand over the title to someone else in a few issues.

Ugh. Maybe we get two Batgirls? Three? (Yeah, right. BG gold, BG purple, BG black. Suuuure, DC will go for that.)

If they're rolling back the timeline a few years to make Bruce & Clark younger, then Tim might be Robin (because if you roll Damian back a few years, he's *really* too young for a cape & tights), and Steph could be, um, Spoiler? DAMMIT, NO. STEPH IS AWESOME AS BATGIRL. Babs is awesome at Batgirl but is more awesome as Oracle and I do not want to trade an awesome Batgirl and an awesome Oracle for an awesome Batgirl, no Oracle, and orphan Steph.

Sigh. Maybe at least we get Lian back?
