this is starting to feel like an Eastwood joint
The good: It looks like Dick and Jay are each getting their own title.
The bad: Putting Babs back in the mask is one of the dumbest things DC has done to date, and not just because Steph does not deserve this shit.
The ugly: If there's something worse than Judd Winick getting his hands on Selina Kyle, I can't think of it at the moment.
So. Mixed feelings about so much. I'm not going to stop buying Bat comics: I *can't*. And I don't think the reboot is going to make me *completely* unhappy. But there's so much that *is* going to make me unhappy, that I just...
I don't know. I don't know how to feel about any of it, really.

Except, for, ugh, removing Oracle. And Steph. It's not that I mind the idea of Babs-as-Batgirl stories; I'd love to see some of those. It's that I don't want Oracle gone, and Steph is amazing and I cannot see Babs pulling off the same level of reining in Damian's sociopathic impulses, and what, are they going to de-age Babs to 17? 21? and I don't want Oracle gone... (Maybe Steph will still be Batgirl and the first few issues will be Babs flashbacks & history issues? I can hope?)
I'm relatively indifferent to Selina, for which I am grateful, because I know that I'm gonna hate a lot of what they do with characters I care about.

I'm worried about Bart and my Lanterns, although I honestly cannot say I give a damn one way or the other about the Supers (not a Super fan), but the rest of my Bats... god, Damian, poor kid. Damian really needed Dick to be his Batman, you know? Then again, Bruce's personality is getting kind of a reboot back to pre-Crisis, so I'm not as worried as I could be. Still. *cries*
And Steph. Losing Steph's Batgirl is like a knife in my throat. Losing Oracle? Just as bad. There is just NOTHING good going on there.
Tim I'm not so worried about. The Drake has a wide, fanatical following, and I'm pretty sure he'll be fine, one way or another. Timmy tends to land on his feet.
BUT MY GIRLS. DC *always* fucks my girls over. But there's nothing new about that. Women in comics get the shaft. Always.

Ugh. Maybe we get two Batgirls? Three? (Yeah, right. BG gold, BG purple, BG black. Suuuure, DC will go for that.)
If they're rolling back the timeline a few years to make Bruce & Clark younger, then Tim might be Robin (because if you roll Damian back a few years, he's *really* too young for a cape & tights), and Steph could be, um, Spoiler? DAMMIT, NO. STEPH IS AWESOME AS BATGIRL. Babs is awesome at Batgirl but is more awesome as Oracle and I do not want to trade an awesome Batgirl and an awesome Oracle for an awesome Batgirl, no Oracle, and orphan Steph.
Sigh. Maybe at least we get Lian back?

But Babs's history is going to be very, very different. And god, I *wish* I could see them doing Batgirls. Because all *three* of them together? That's the kind of "Inc." I could get behind. Batgirl Inc. I freaking love it.
But I'm not going to get it. Somebody over on tumblr suggested that Misfit may be the new Batgirl, and that... wow. That makes me so, so angry. I may actually stop buying Batgirl if that happens, which sucks, because right now? Batgirl is the best title DC *has*. Once again, they're dismissing Steph, and it hurts. So much. D:
