.01 Is anyone else reading the new Birds of Prey? If you are, want to talk about it? I don't want to spoil anyone, but I'm itching to discuss the things I like and the things I'm potentially worried about.

.02 I just reread all my Blue Beetle trades/issues. WHY DID YOU CANCEL MY FAVORITE SERIES, DC? WHY? There was no character I didn't like or at least get a moderate kick out of. I even enjoyed the bad guys. And Jaime--a nice, normal (for a certain value of normal), really sweet kid of Mexican-American descent with an amazing family and friends who know he's Blue Beetle and support him and the fact that he happens to have alien tech living under his skin--is made of so much win and awesome that I've actually shrieked out loud at various points in my readings, and no doubt will again. As for Khaji Da? There are no words. NO WORDS. I mean, yeah, I have an AI kink the size of LA, but god, he's... no words.

Why, DC? Why do you always manage to ruin/kill off/neglect your best characters? Also, Teen Titans' use of him? SO NOT COOL. (And while I'm at it, what Teen Titans has done and is doing with Lorena Marquez? Excuse me while I go KILL something. Aquagirl does not exist to be your vamp, assholes. Note to self: stop reading this shit. Auxiliary note: find Aquagirl icon.)

.03 I love Batman Beyond. This is not news. Also not news: I'm planning long, plotty future BB fic based on my personal head canon, which includes Nightwing!Max and Robin!Matt. I've always intended to include Miguel Diaz (the kid from Unmasked who saw Terry's face?), because he has future Timmy-type Bat-stalker written all over him. But. I had this... Blue Beetle thought. About him. I am unsure whether or not I should unthink this thought. It would be unbelievably fun to write Khaji Da into this AU thusly. Hmn.

I have also arbitrarily decided there must be Mad Stan and Splicers and perhaps Zeta as well. Grife, my brain does weird things at two-hundred.

.04 I finally made myself finish reading All Star Batman and Robin. As trades go, this was a more costly than usual endeavor. Expenses are as follows: TPB (bought at local used bookstore): $6. Spackle and paint to fix the dents where I threw the TPB against the wall twenty or so times: $2.21. Antacids to control my reflux: $1. The three bread plates and two juice glasses I broke out in the backyard afterward because it was either that or hit people: $15. Imagining watching Babs and Canary kicking Frank Miller in the head? Priceless.

I'm writing a review. Anyone want to read it?

1. I did read the first issue of the new Birds! And now I am deathly frightened of what new dregs of fail are going to be brought up as a result. I don't have as much faith in Gail Simone as others in the community do, and... yeah.

2. BLUE BEETLE IS FOR EVERYONE. I worry so much about Jaime, though I think that he's currently in very good hands for the time being. I think.

The Lorena going after Jaime subplot was one of the more vile elements of the last year or so of TT comics, and that's saying something. Whhhhhy can't they just burn that title to the ground and salt the earth? Do they even realize that they have a very serious problem there?

3. I have never actually been a big fan of the DCAU, but new Blue Beetle! Future Beetle!

I get so lost with American Comics. But~~ if you tell me what issues and where it starts I will totally read it.

1) I read Bop vol2, #1 and will not be reading the series. I found it boring, and as much as I love Dinah, Zinda, and Huntress, I can't handle another comic that looks crappy just so I can read about characters I like.

2) No one read it. The numbers for that comic were very low - although there were a few others down there they didn't cancel. I can't explain why comics sell - because it's mostly seems like the crappy ones are the ones that do.

2A) Teen Titans is shit. All of it is fucking horrible and they need to cancel that comic and cry in shame.

3) Nightwing!Max and Robin!Matt YES YES YES. Well, it would need to be someone other than Jaime I think? Unless we're feeling the Scarab keeps him from aging cause Static was still in League in the LJU, but in Batman time Tim who was what 14? was now 50/60. It would be awesome though - I would have liked to see Terry do more with a league/team.

4) Hahahahaha. That comic is hilarious. I read the recaps on I-Mockery and the guy is like this shit is beyond drug use and straight to idk...he think it's a joke, but I think Miller has killed all of his brain cells.

Since you love Batman Beyond (as do I), I don't know if you know or not, but WB is releasing the series in a box set, kinda like they did with B: TAS.

*grins* I already own it in three season sets + RotJ, or I'd pre-order right freaking now. Almost makes me wish I didn't have it, so I could buy it this way; it looks awesome.
