"Normal" in the sense of "grew up with parents in the suburbs," I s'pose. He's got a context for understanding a lot of the people they meet, that much of the rest of the BatClan lacks. If "normal" is an external label, he's the most normal of the swarm, except for Steph, who has enough "normal" in her background to wield it like a club for smackdowns.
